About
Dawn Southey Hills is turning her pain into purpose... Her passion is to inspire and empower people to live their best lives... She is the survivor of physical, mental, emotional, sexual abuse and trauma. After loosing her best friend to suicide in 2010, Dawn was devastated. Since she could not save her friend Sheri, she wanted to help others to teach wellness tools. So she created Inspiring Light and Inspiring Light Foundation, with her friend Jessica Mueller and her husband, District Chief of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services, Malcolm Hills. Inspiring Light brings Mental Health Tools into Schools, helps First Responder Families, and Families with Kids with Special Needs.
Dawn was an English teacher until her son was diagnosed with generalized epilepsy and special needs. She also has a blended family and she is the wife of a First Responder. Dawn has experienced many challenges, which lead her study to yoga, meditation, trauma healing, and to the Grief Recovery Method. Dawn's experience of much loss and pain, helps her to lovingly guide her clients to heal their own grief and trauma. Dawn teaches that there is always HOPE for healing, with the proper tools and nurturing support systems.
